Founder, Katie Friesen grew up on a farm in Niverville, Manitoba. She left for Miami on a beach volleyball scholarship to Florida International University, then spent years in venture capital and worked at a Colombian tech startup that had just raised $58 million.
Then she came home.
She came back to help on the finance and admin side of the family farm. She wanted to help her brother run the operation and see her dad transition into retirement (still not retired). What she found when she got there wasn’t a tech problem. It was a farm problem everyone had quietly accepted.
“When was the last time we changed the fuel filter on that tractor?” “I thought Dave was supposed to do that.” “How much have we spent on that semi this year?” On any farm operation, questions like these come up all the time. And nobody ever really has a good answer. Not because they don’t care, but because there was never a real system in place. Just notebooks, spreadsheets, and memory. Across 30 to 200+ pieces of equipment.
She called other farmers. Same story everywhere. The software that existed was built for other industries, not agriculture. And what was built for agriculture was too complicated for a farm crew to actually use.
So she built something that wasn’t.
FarmerTitan is what came out of that. A QR code on every machine, a mobile app your whole farm team — even the “not-techy” or “old guys” — will actually use. An easy and clear record of what got done, when it got done, and who did it.
Our goal is to make life easier, save time and money on the farm. We help you organize and communicate with your farm team, avoid preventable repairs, and most importantly, catch the little things that get missed before seeding and harvest before they stop the whole operation.
FarmerTitan is made simple enough for anyone on the crew to use. That’s the only way it actually works.
